After years of entertaining the Piedmont, Raleigh's Picasso Trigger are next in line for bigtime stardom if Alias' promo magic works like it has for the Archers and Small 23. Which it will, of course, because on Fire In the Hole, their first full-length (in stores Valentine's Day), the keenly dense production pushes the PicTrig churning bass sound to divinely hemorrhaging satisfaction. A sensation not entirely unlike being trampled by a herd of rabid caribou. And liking it. There are a few songs from the singles and comps, but there's still plenty new ones to please the Inner Moshfield in you. Yar. (Franz Kunst)
