We'll call it the vinyl debut from Mary Lou Lord (backed here by Bikini Kill's rhythm section) until someone says otherwise. The a-side builds gracefully from the first fragile notes into a distortion-trenched fuzz rocker. Layered girlgroup harmonies. Very nice. The b-side brings two-songs-in-one. "Western Union" starts off rockin, stops, and strips down to acoustic guitar and Lord's breathy vocals. (Carrie McLaren)
