Finger's first post-John Howie outing finds them surviving the departure of one helluva drummer, thank you. (with help from Superchunk's Jon Wurster.) A couple good, clean songs here, in keeping with the Raleigh band's predilection for straight-up, feel-good RnR. The unusually poppy "Wedding Boots" would be a classic rock hit in a perfect world. "Do It Feel" finds the Raleigh boys getting in touch with their inner blues. Dig the snappy harmonica, but, (never thought I'd be saying this about Finger) the proper volume seems to be lacking. Perhaps if the guitar parts were kept as simple as the lyrics, it would feel . . . uh, more rocking. Cool cover art par usual. (Carrie McLaren)
